June 19, 2019 @ 2:00 pm - 3:30 pm

All people, including those with limited means of expressive communication, deserve access to accurate information about relationships and sexuality. This webinar will outline methods of providing communication support and multi-modal access when teaching with the Sexuality Education for People with Developmental Disabilities curriculum, or any other teaching tools you use.

Open to all, including self-advocates, support people, families, and community members.

Learning Objectives:

  • Participants will understand the frameworks of Presuming Competence and the Least Dangerous Assumption
  • Participants will discuss methods of adapting activities to include people with limited means of expressive communication
  • Participants will view examples of real life communication adaptations, and will be provided access for their own use
  • Participants will have the opportunity to request and share suggestions with the instructors and with other participants

This is a 90 minute online workshop. We use a video conference platform (Ring Central, powered by Zoom) to deliver the workshop. There will be opportunity for questions and live engagement with the instructors.
