Working with Immigrants & Refugees Affected by Crime

The program Working with Immigrants & Refugees Affected by Crime will outline the holistic view of an immigrant, refugee and asylum seeker and how social services can provide necessary support to their clients of this target population. Participants will learn the differences between the terms immigrant, refugee, and asylum seeker. Participants will also receive practical information on culture and best practices in service provision and mental health.  Participants will also learn effective communication skills when providing services with the assistance of a professional interpreter.”

Working with Immigrants & Refugees Affected by Crime will be held in Indianapolis on September 27, 2023, beginning at 9:00 a.m. and ending at 5:00 p.m. Lunch will not be provided. Our featured presenters, Melissa Grossman, Natalie Borjas, and Ashle Kibiger provide services through Amani Family Services in Fort Wayne. Please select the registration link to view their bios.
